THE TEACHER LINE |
 |
|
|
|
The Teacher Line is available to your child at any time between 4pm to 7pm,
Monday to Friday and 10am to 1pm on Saturday.
The Teacher Line number is 0800-999-5112.
If at any time you have any difficulty getting through to the Teacher Line, please either
ring us on 0208-658-7711 or e-mail us at admin@ebluk.co.uk immediately.
It is vitally important that, as soon as a child is having difficulty, you ring the Teacher
Help Line immediately. The Teacher Line may be used by either the student or the
Parent/Guardian and we stress that you should ring, regardless of how trivial you may
feel the matter is.
In the unlikely event that you have rung with a problem that we are unable to help with,
at least you will know the situation and we will be able to advise where to get help.
There is no restriction on the number of times a student can call the Teacher Line,
provided that the calls are concerning Mathematics and English grammar. Please
remember: the time to find out if there is a problem is - immediately.
The time to stop the problem from becoming one is - immediately. The time to have
a problem explained is - immediately. The time to solve the problem is - immediately.
So, always use the Teacher Line - right now!

CHECKUP |
|
|
|
|
We at Educational Backup Services understand that it is very important for both
students and Parents/Guardians to know exactly how well their children are doing.
Therefore, at the end of each school term, we will contact you to ask you to complete
your Checkup.
This allows us as Parents/Guardians to know if our children are having difficulty with
their Mathematics or English and, if they are, what further action can be taken to ensure
they do not fall further behind.
It may just be that a child is having difficulty with a small part of that term’s curriculum,
in which case the remedy may simply be to call the Educational Backup Services Teacher
Help Line for assistance. If, however, a check up shows a more serious problem, it may
be a case of taking this up with your child’s teacher, or possibly get some outside help.
The important thing is that you know exactly how your children are progressing and if
action is required.
At the end of the term, the student will be emailed advising them it is time for their
Checkup.
Please remember that you should complete your Checkup within 7 days of being
notified.
How to Use the Checkup
Simply log onto www.ebluk.co.uk and click on “students”.
You will be shown the Student Login Screen. Type your
Username and your Password and click on “Login”. This will
bring you to the Student Page. Click on “Maths Checkup”
and complete your Checkup test. Please attempt as many of
the questions as you can. Then, click on your “English
Checkup” and complete as many questions as you can.
Your tests will then be marked by us and the results emailed
to you.

DIPLOMA |
|
|
|
|
At Educational Backup Services, we believe it is important to reward students for hard work. This
is why we allow them, at any time during their school life, to apply for a Diploma. Experience has
taught us that when students are rewarded for success, it builds their confidence and motivates
them to keep working hard. We ask that Parent/Guardians allow the students to display their
Diplomas in the family home before keeping them in their Achievement Folder.
Whilst it is possible for a student to apply for a Diploma at any time, if they are unsuccessful in
achieving the Diploma, they will be “prevented” from attempting that particular Diploma for one
month.
Students may attempt any Diploma at their checkup level and one level above – with Parent/Guardian permission – but we would ask them to consider that, when a child fails, it can be de-motivating. We would recommend you only allow students to sit a Diploma when they are confident to try that level of work.
Should a student not finish their examination in one sitting, they will be able to return to
complete the exam at another time. This will no longer require the Diploma Password number.
Once the student has completed the Diploma Examination, it will be automatically submitted for
marking and the results will be emailed to your family within 10 working days.
Should a student pass, then an email will be sent explaining that the Diploma is being sent in the
post. Should a student fail, then an email will be sent to the Parent/Guardian explaining which
areas require extra attention and the student will be “prevented” from re-attempting that Diploma
for one month.
When the student re-attempts that Diploma, it will again require the Diploma Password to be
entered. We would stress that Parents/Guardians should not allow this unless they are confident
that the student has done the extra work required.
How to Apply for Diploma
In order to sit a Diploma, the student must log onto the website at
www.ebluk.co.uk . Click on “student”, enter the Username, Password and click on
“Login”. This will bring you to the Student Page and a student may click on the
“Diploma Examination” that they would like to attempt.
This will then bring them to the Diploma Password (Parental Code) screen. This
requires you as Parents/Guardians, to enter your “Diploma Password” allowing
the student to continue. Please note that by doing this you are firstly confirming
your approval to sit at this level and secondly that the students will do all of the
work on their own.
The student will then complete the on-line Diploma Examination.
